The TAGESSPIEGEL wrote about Birgit Stigter:

Art manages in an excellent way to connect things that are usually not related to each other. Thus art opens new worlds and gives new insights. This creates mental space: the windows open. The more windows open, the more exciting the view. Making new connections is not a superfluous luxury. In our ‘over-specialized’ world, everything is divided to such an extent that the view of the original and natural context and complexity is lost. Art makes some of it visible again from time to time.

Birgit Stigter has explored Berlin’s formal language in the lines, the organic and the revealing, with their internal connections serving as a red thread. In this dynamic city, the heart of Europe for art and politics, the great diversity in form and function has been evident for centuries. Dividing, reuniting, divided and reunited, connections, decay and blossoming: everything leaves its traces and puts together the blueprint for the city and its inhabitants. The formal language of this building plan is also reflected in the art.
